Announcing New Educational Classes Starting In 2015!
Each class will be limited in size, so please enroll early to ensure your spot. Classes are $20 each, an additional family member is $15. **Except Birds 100 series, which is $30 for both classes** Every class will offer a 1 hour shopping opportunity at the conclusion where you can have one on one time with us to ask all your questions. Discounts will be offered to items specific to that class. Some classes will have unique offers at an additional cost. Class enrollment will close 1 week before the class is scheduled. Cancellation and refund of an enrolled class will be available up to 5 days before the class.
Class Schedule January-April 2015:
A presentation on Avian Borna Virus (ABV) and Proventricular Dilitation Disease (PDD)

A lot of misinformation has been passed around about ABV/PDD. These serious avian diseases affect a vast amount of pet birds and need to be addressed. Come join us for an education lecture that will help explain and debunk the myths associated with these diseases. Topics to be covered include: defining ABV/PDD, the signs, symptoms, and transfer of ABV/PDD, how to treat and care for an afflicted bird, and also screening and prevention.
Successfully Keeping and Breeding Canaries and Finches

Come learn from our expert soft bill breeders that will be teaching you all their secrets. We will be covering all information on canaries and a variety of finches. Learn how to set up mixed aviaries for pleasure and pairs for successfully breeding; correct housing, nutrition, and lighting to be covered as well. We have a great selection of finches and canaries to choose from for your own set up, all at discounted prices.
Nutrition 101: Sprouting, Chop, and Muffins
Wednesday, February, 18th 6pm-9pm
Come join us to learn how to expand your bird’s palette with fresh fruits, veggies, and sprouts. We will be sharing our own recipes that we feed every day with the convenience of make-ahead recipes. We will show you two easy ways to sprout your own seeds, legumes, etc.. We will be making “chop” which provides your bird with a multitude of fresh tastes and textures that can be conveniently frozen. And of course healthy birdie muffins—every bird’s favorite way to sneak in pellets and veggies.
Class fee includes information on all topics covered, including recipes. Additional class package includes a 1 month supply of fresh food for 1 bird (sprouts, chop, and muffins) for $20.
Birds 100: Sunday, March 1st 2pm-5pm
Birds 101: Sunday, March 8th 2pm-5pm
Birds 102: Sunday, March 15th 2pm-5pm
A two-part class series for both novices and those wanting to add a second bird to their home. In Birds 100 you will learn about all the different species of parrots we raise, including their personalities, attitudes, and needs. Based on this information, you can either take Birds 101, which covers smaller species, or Birds 102 covering medium to large parrots. By taking both classes, a discount will be offered when purchasing a bird and set up. Come learn all you need to know from us in an intimate setting where all your questions will be answered.
Toy Making 101: Foraging Toys
Wednesday, April 8th 6pm-9pm
This class includes expert instruction on challenging toys for all size birds. You will make three size-appropriate toys that will include treats, foraging, and enrichment. A variety of topics will be discussed including the importance of toy stimulation provided by foraging toys.
