Sugarcreek Bird Farm offers educational as well as toy-making classes to help you learn about all aspects of pet bird care! 

 

We currently offer a mix of classes held both in our store or held online via Google Meet.

 

After each class you attend, you’ll receive special discounts pertaining to the topic discussed that can be used either online or in our store. Cancellation and refund of an enrolled class will be available up to 5 days before the class.

Any updates to our classes will be emailed to those with tickets or will be listed on our Facebook page.

Halloween Toy Class for Small Birds

October 6th from 1-3pm

Let your birds get into the spooky spirit by coming in and making two Halloween themed hanging toys and one foot toy for your smaller birds. This includes Cockatiels, Conures, Quakers, Pionus, Caiques, Indian Ringnecks, etc..

Lecture on Avian Health with Dr. Bob Dahlhausen

November 10th from 1-3pm

Join us for one of our most popular lectures each year! Dr. Bob Dahlhausen of Avian & Exotic Animal Medicine will be coming in-person at SBF to give a lecture on avian health.

Christmas Toy Class for Medium Birds

December 8th from 1-3pm

Let your bird get into the holiday festivities with a cage set up to be jolly about! This class will include 2 hanging toys and a foot toy for medium-sized species, such as Conures, Caiques, Pionus, Eclectus, Amazons, Greys, and small Cockatoos.

How to Manage a Hormonal Bird with Cassie Malina

October 13th from 1-3pm

All birds have gone through the dreaded breeding season where maybe they just get a bit sassier than normal or maybe your bird is hormonal year round. Join Cassie as she gives you helpful pointers on how to work alongside your bird to minimize some of those behaviors.

How to Curb a Screaming Parrot with Cassie Malina

November 17th from 1-3pm

All parrots scream; that's communication! But how do we replace that behavior with a potentially more desirable one? Join Cassie as she teaches you some tips and tricks on how to curb that behavior as well as teach us, the human, on how not to accidentally reward screaming.
