Quaker Parrots

Did you know that Quaker Parrots, also known as Monk Parakeets, are actually illegal to own in some states?

Quakers are EXCELLENT colony nesters, so you can only imagine what would happen when multiple pet birds get released in the same area. There are now wild invasive flocks of Quakers in: California, Arizona, Texas, Florida and most recently New York City. With that being said, always make sure to check your state's laws and regulations before purchasing any species of bird! For example, in Ohio you can only legally own a Quaker if you keep the wings clipped.
